Origin of the Name

The name elibea, pronounced [el-ee-bee], is a blending of three names:

“e” is for Edith, my grandmother, whom I called Meme.
Meme was a homemaker. She excelled at cooking, baking, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, knitting, painting, gardening and the like. As her eldest granddaughter, I had an extremely special and close relationship with her and loved spending time with her. Although we only had 15 years together, Meme shared these valuable skills (and many other skills and life lessons) with me which enables me to channel my creativity into my everyday life.

“li” is for Lisa (me)

“bea” is for my Great Aunt Bernice or Aunt Bea to me.
Aunt Bea was a passionate red-head, just like me, with a big heart and a go-getter personality. She was a business owner at a time when women just didn’t do that. She was an extrovert and always had a lot to say, whether you wanted to hear it or not. She never let any obstacle or challenge prevent her from achieving her goals. Aunt Bea was an amazing, kick-ass lady whom I admired very much!

I am proud to be the “li” between the “e” and “bea." May their creativity, strength, passion and heart live on through elibea and me.
